Hi and welcome, I’m Andrea of Wedding Cakes Middlesbrough, an experienced and reliable cake maker. I have been creating fabulous celebration cakes, engagement cakes, anniversary cakes and wedding cakes for over three decades. Serving customers throughout Middlesbrough, Stockton, Yarm and much of Teeside and North Yorkshire.
Nevertheless my love of cake making began as a little girl, watching with fascination as my mum baked and decorated cakes. Those feelings of awe have remained with me ever since, kindling a passion for all things food related.
As a qualified chef my early career was as a diet cook at James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.
However, upon having children of my own, the opportunity to bake cakes for them presented itself. Just as my mum did for me many moons ago. I took evening courses on cake decorating and icing, so I was able to produce imaginative cakes for them.

Neighbours and friends were so impressed they started asking me to design and bake cakes for them. As more people saw my creations, demand for my cake making and sugarcraft skills grew. What began as a passion and a hobby soon became a business, growing by word of mouth and reputation.
The advent of social media enabled me to share my work on facebook. Under the name Cakes by Design – Andrea Monaco. As a result you will find a huge range and galleries of cakes I make.
I hope this assures you that I can create a cake for you which will meet, and ideally exceed, your expectations. My goal is to make my customers happy, so they can enjoy their celebration cake and want to return and recommend me to others.

To this day I still get a buzz from seeing the final result and love what I do. Every cake is a joy to make.
